Wind, Dream, and Shadow

The illusions of wind and shadow, the interweaving of body movements and light and shadow, gaze upon the ancient existence of the stone.

Like playing "The Wind Blows" as a child, wind, shadow, and stone interchange and transform. The wind blows, the shadow moves, the wind carries the shadow to the stone, leading into a series of dreams, and then from the stone, one can see the wind and shadow of the dream in the void. A space-time that is both dreamlike and real, through the shadow of the wind, the dream of the shadow, the wind and shadow within the dream, and the shadow of the wind in the dream, one can feel the pulse of life. The entire performance uses human voices to simulate the sounds of wind, tree shadows, fallen leaves sweeping the ground, insects, frogs, birds, and cracking stones, accompanied by instruments such as clappers, drums, chimes, and flutes. Each scene contains profound emotions and the true meaning of existence; this is our contemplation on life and the universe.

Founded by Taiwanese performing artist Sun Li-tsui, Shang Mime Troupe is the only mime troupe in Taiwan.
